AM16 Videos

Its taken a while, but finally we now have the videos from AvatarMeet 2016 to share.  If you were unable to make the meet up, you will be able to see what we got up to and experience the meet up with those who were able to make it.

If you did make it to the meet up you can now share the video with your friends and family so they can see what you got up to.

There are two videos:  The first one covers the majority of the meet up, including meeting the Cirque du Soleil cast who came to Karyu Pawl's Na'vi lesson, painting Pittsburgh blue and going to see Toruk- The First Flight.  The second video covers the behind the scene tour given by the Cirque du Soleil cast and crew.  You can view the videos via the links below:

Survey Results and AvatarMeet 2016 Videos

It's been a while!  A belated Happy New Year to Everyone.  2017 will be the year when the wheels on the Avatar train start rolling again as filming gets underway as well as the opening of 'Pandora - The World of Avatar.' Add that tothe Cirque du Soleil show, Toruk the First Flight, and the world wide traveling exhibition there is a sense that things are beginning to ramp up.

Last year the AvatarMeet planning team sent out a survey to the clan to help guide us as we arrange the next meet up.  So irayo nìtxan to everyone who took part in the AvatarMeet 2017 survey.  It has provided some good usable intel!  There were some great and useful comments provided to help the planning team steer the next meet up.  Below you will find a summary of the survey results.

Also in this issue you will find links to more information on the progress in Florida with Pandora - The World of Avatar.  It seems it will be open in time for summer, but as you will have gathered, it is the intent of AvatarMeet to go towards the end of 2017, when it will be cooler and quieter and we will hopefully be able to better immerse ourselves in the experience.

Not to forget our amazing visit to Pittsburgh this year, the videos from the meet up have now been completed and publish.  If you haven't seen them yet, links are provided in this newsletter.

There were many useful and helpful comments posted.  Most centered around aiming for late October/early November to avoid hurricane season.  There is still an appetite for undertaking volunteering habitat restoration and pushing the boat out a bit due to having more time to save, but not too much!

If you missed out on taking part in the survey, but still have some thoughts you would like to share with the planning team, please feel free to get in touch with the planning team through the usual channels.

Hotel or Rental Home
As you can see from the survey there was a a fair proportion of people undecided on the hotel or rental home option.  To help provide a bit more information on rental homes  here is a link for the neighborhood that looks to be the closest to the Animal Kingdom: Windsor Hills Resort

On the hotel front, as you can imagine, there are many to choose from which are in close proximity to Disney's Animal Kingdom.  And the prices vary depending on where you stay.  This link takes you to a map of the areas showing where the hotels are.

Over the coming months we will be sending out further information, including requesting your accommodation preference.  In the meantime if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
